Focus on Uppingham
Inspector Siobhan Gorman spent a day with PC Josh Ace in Uppingham. It was a busy day as they met representatives from Uppingham School, Rutland Radio and gave a presentation to the Uppingham Neighbourhood Forum. Local priorities were discussed and the Inspector had a chance to hear from local people about their concerns.

In some really good news, officers on patrol in Rutland arrested 3 men in a stolen vehicle. Searches of their addresses resulted in drugs and drug dealing paraphernalia being seized. The 3 men have been charged with a number of offences, including possession of Class ‘A’ drugs. One of the 3 men has been released under investigation for further drugs offences and enquiries are ongoing.

PC Laurie Appleton and PCSO Di Freeman have been targeting the use of mini-moto’s and moto-x bikes on the quarry near Great Casterton, after reports from concerned residents.
They have been patrolling this area and have identified riders of the vehicles and are working alongside Lincolnshire Police based at Stamford to combat the issue.
One male rider was successfully identified and has been spoken to by police and one moto has already been seized for having no tax/MOT.

For the keen runners amongst you, the Rutland Water 5km park run is held every Saturday at 9am and starts from Normanton church LE158HD. It’s growing in numbers with 239 enthusiastic runners out on 9th February. If you want to join in its free but you do need to register first at www.parkrun.org.uk
We would advise you to use the secure parking at Rutland Water where possible, but wherever you park please do not leave valuables on display and make sure they are removed .
