An attractive opportunity has arisen to join Ryhall Parish Council as the Parish Clerk/ Responsible Financial Officer. The role is well rewarded, varied in its nature and offers a high degree of flexibility, with much of the work involved being done from home and at hours to suit the postholder. We are seeking to appoint by the end of October but can be flexible.
The successful applicant will ensure that all legal, statutory, financial and other governing provisions relating to the Council are observed, all Council meetings are properly administered and decisions effectively implemented. They will also carry out a wide range of general administrative duties and need to be confident in the use of appropriate technology.
The successful applicant will be self motivated, enthusiastic, community focused and willing to obtain the Certificate in Local Council Administration. Previous experience in a similar role will be an advantage, but is not essential, as appropriate training can be given. The role does require a good standard of administrative, communication, IT, financial and organisational skills.
The role and hours include some evening work attending the Parish Council’s monthly (except August) meetings, but are otherwise flexible and can be tailored to individual needs. A working from home allowance will be provided, along with a new laptop and printer. Council documents will need to be stored securely at the postholder’s address.
