Concern has frequently been expressed about speeding in the village, most recently by the School Ambassadors.
A proposal to create a 20-mph zone in the centre of the village was discussed and agreed in principle at Parish Council in September and a proposal was submitted accordingly to Rutland County Council.
They have declined to support the proposals but indicated it was something the Parish Council could commission should it wish. The Parish has the funds available it could spend on this project, however the local council the advisory body suggested that due to the scale of expense [£3570 plus ~ £2000 legal expenses] a public consultation should be undertaken.
