Ryhall Parish Council is mourning the death of one of its dedicated members, Patrick Harris.
Patrick joined the council in May 2015 and this year was serving as our tree warden.
He was an unassuming councillor, but his commitment and enthusiasm were always evident at our meetings. We valued his common sense and dry humour.
Patrick’s boss at Perkins, Peterborough, has spoken of the great respect Patrick earned for his work throughout the world and Ryhall also benefited from his devotion to the parish. He had a deep love of the countryside and its lore and was a keen observer of Nature as he walked his three dogs, silent whistle to hand.
We offer our sincere condolences to his wife Rachel, daughters Jessie and Cherry, and other members of his family including his sister, fellow parish councillor Stella Smith.
The funeral was held at Peterborough Crematorium, Marholm, where 300 people paid their respects.
The family ask that any donations be given to the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund.
